Picture aligning 140+ HR Leads across four continents — LATAM, Asia, North America, and Africa — around a single Employee Relations standard, while navigating different legal systems, cultures, and time zones. That was daily life for me at the International Rescue Committee.
I designed and delivered IRC's global Employee Relations eLearning programme for those 140+ HR Leads, then went further by co-facilitating in-person workshops with 80+ Senior People & Culture Partners across multiple global locations — building real capability in high-stakes HR conversations within a complex humanitarian environment.
To make the content land everywhere it needed to, I developed multilingual versions in French and Spanish, ensuring relevance and accessibility across IRC's 40+ country offices. But training shouldn't end when the workshop does. So I pioneered IRC's first Community of Practice for People & Culture partners — a cross-regional space for ongoing peer support and shared problem-solving that's still running beyond the original programme.
At IRC, this work wasn't separate from the mission. It was part of how the organisation builds the resilience and capability that humanitarian response depends on.
